RecRoom will help foster a dialogue about collecting and supporting working artists. Our goal is to educate and support collectors in making informed and confident decisions when acquiring art. We believe that collectors are the backbone of a healthy arts community and our mission is to build the collector base here and demonstrate that one can acquire high-quality work or build a substantive collection without traveling to major art centers. Many cities outside those centers have robust arts communities and collectors of national merit. Our community is perfectly poised for this with access to two major public universities and several exceptional small private universities that house art spaces and museums, recruit highly respected art faculty, and host revered visiting artists.  We also benefit from being in a sales tax-free state, which can make an appreciable difference in the cost of acquiring art.  We will work with collectors throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, advising and directing acquisitions for private and corporate collections. We will present work that is also accessible to those outside the one percent and foster the highest and best relationships among artists, galleries, and collectors.
